We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. To help support the Literature community we hold regular contests. It is an opportunity for you to get involved and gain some exposure. Contest winners will be featured in a news article and a journal entry--as well as other fabulous prizes. and suggest that next time you get a saguarro or two silhouetted against that sky.
The scene, as is, doesn't really say "desert".
From a compositional point of view too,
I think a saguarro would open up some exciting possibilities.
(I say saguarro, but there may be other features which might work as well)

Is this the same day that your sister tagged along with you for photo shoot??? if so, you should have placed her in silohette... or maybe put yourself in silhouette. (she has been talking about that time off and on all week!)
Actually though the desert around here is disappearing (alas). A nice cactus would have been great, or palm tree. surprised no birds were flying - shoot! I am not found of cactus lately though after getting bit on the foot by that jumping one!
